Early Times Report JAMMU, May 16: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu proudly organised an Inter-School Dance Competition on the vibrant theme Folk Dance, transforming the campus into a magnificent celebration of India's rich cultural heritage, diversity, and artistic brilliance. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 12 schools, where young performers mesmerised the audience with captivating presentations deeply rooted in tradition, rhythm, and cultural expression. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Padma Shri Awardee and renowned Dogri artist Romalo Ram as the Chief Guest, whose inspiring presence added grandeur and cultural significance to the event. The programme was further honoured by the gracious presence of Guest of Honour Sunil Sharma. The event was also dignified by the presence of school management member Sonakshi Anand, whose encouragement and support added warmth to the celebration. The competition was judged by distinguished personalities from the field of performing arts - Harvinder Singh Dhanjal, pioneer of dance culture in Udhampur and Director of Navrang Dance Academy, along with internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer Sunny Mujoo. The judges appreciated the participants for their expressive performances, coordination, confidence, and vibrant portrayal of India's folk traditions. Aligned with the vision of NEP 2020, Panchakosha development, and CBSE's emphasis on experiential and holistic education, the event nurtured creativity, aesthetic appreciation, cultural awareness, confidence, teamwork, and emotional expression among students. The winners of the competition were declared as: First Position - Stephen International Public School, Second Position - APS BD Bari & Third Position - Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu , Consolation Prize 1- APS Kaluchak , Consolation Prize 2- Rich Harvest School. Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson, appreciated the remarkable efforts and artistic excellence displayed by all participating schools. She highlighted that such cultural platforms play a vital role in preserving India's rich heritage while nurturing confidence, creativity, and holistic development among students. She also lauded the dedicated efforts of the organising team, coordinators, faculty members, and the Dance Department for ensuring the flawless execution of the event. She further acknowledged the enthusiastic participation of all the schools for contributing to the collective endeavour of preserving and passing forward the timeless charm of India's rich cultural heritage to future generations.
