Inter-School Zonal Level Sports Competitions conclude at Akhnoor

AKHNOOR, May 16: A week-long Inter-School Zonal Level Sports Competitions-cum-Trial for Under-14 and Under-17 Boys and Girls of Zone Akhnoor concluded today at the Indoor Stadium, Akhnoor. The competitions were organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Zone Akhnoor under the guidance of DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma and the overall supervision of ZPEO Akhnoor, Ashok Kumar.
The competitions were conducted in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Chess, Yoga, Table Tennis, Cricket, Badminton, Basketball, Football, and Wrestling. Around 1,820 student players from Government and Private institutions of Zone Akhnoor participated in the tournament with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
During the closing ceremony, the ZPEO Akhnoor congratulated the Organising Committee and Technical Committee for the smooth and successful conduct of the competitions.
Results of Major Team Events
Boys Under-14
Kabaddi: GMS Daskal defeated GHS Sunail by eight points.
Kho-Kho: GHS Sunail outplayed GHS Kotli Tanda by ten points.
Volleyball: GHS Kot Garhi defeated GHS Barui by one point.
Boys Under-17
Kabaddi: GHSS Narrari Bala defeated St. Francis HSS by ten points.
Kho-Kho: GHS Sunail outplayed GHS Barui by six points.
Volleyball: APS Akhnoor trounced GHS, Kotli Tanda by five points.
Girls Under-14
Kabaddi: GHS Mera Mandrian defeated St. Francis HSS by five points.
Kho-Kho: GHS Sunail defeated APS Akhnoor by twelve points.
Volleyball: APS Akhnoor trounced GHS, Kot Garhi by two points.
Girls Under-17
Kabaddi: GGHSS Akhnoor defeated GHS Kotli Tanda by ten points.
Kho-Kho: Chander Bhaga HSS outplayed GGHSS Akhnoor by one point.
Volleyball: APS Akhnoor trounced GHS Mera Mandrian by two points.
All the matches were officiated by Jatinder Singh, Ashnak Raj Sharma, Rahul Dev, Shambu Dutt, Khadim Hussain, Rajesh Kumar, Gurmukh Singh, Vijay Kumar, Suram Singh, Sushma Devi, and Rinku Kumar.
