Charar-e-Sharief, May 16: A large section of youth from the Charar-e-Sharief constituency has openly appreciated the role of Senior Political Activist Er. Nazir Ahmed Yatoo, stating that although he was repeatedly ignored during elections, he continued to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people and consistently acted as a strong voice of opposition in the area.
The youth said that since 2008 and particularly after 2014, they have continuously witnessed Er. Nazir Ahmed Yatoo raising public concerns despite not being part of the government or holding any political power. According to them, while many mainstream political parties and opposition leaders remained silent on important public matters, Yatoo always remained active on the ground and accessible to the common people.
They said that issues concerning remote villages, unemployment among youth, poor healthcare facilities, educational challenges, road connectivity, electricity, water supply, and other infrastructure-related problems were repeatedly highlighted by Yatoo at different platforms. Apart from developmental issues, they added that he also remained vocal on social, public, and religious matters affecting the people of the constituency.
The youth admitted that they now regret not supporting him in earlier elections and believe that they failed to recognize his dedication towards public service at the right time. “Whenever he approached the people during the elections of 2008 and 2014, many of us ignored him and did not trust his leadership. But with time, we realized that he was among the few leaders who genuinely stood with the people and consistently fought for their issues,” they said.
They further stated that many representatives and parties whom the public trusted and voted for whether from the ruling side or opposition are now largely absent from the ground and disconnected from public grievances. “Today people feel disappointed because those whom we elected are nowhere to be seen during difficult times. On the other hand, Er. Nazir Ahmed Yatoo has always remained available for the people and has continued to support them in every hardship,” the youth added.
The youth also praised Yatoo for maintaining close contact with the masses and frequently visiting far-flung areas of the constituency to understand the problems faced by ordinary citizens. According to them, his public outreach, active role in highlighting issues, and commitment towards the welfare of society have earned him growing respect among people, especially the younger generation. |
