Early Times Report JAMMU, May 21: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta today launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders Ashok Koul General Secretary and Ravinder Raina former State President, terming their allegations against the Omar Abdullah-led government as politically bankrupt, malicious and desperation-driven rhetoric aimed at diverting public attention from BJP's own tainted legacy of corruption, manipulation and administrative failures. Addressing a joining function at the Provincial Headquarter, Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu, Organized by Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone, Gupta said the BJP leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has been left politically unnerved by the growing public confidence, transparent governance and mass outreach initiatives undertaken by the National Conference government. "The BJP is visibly rattled by the resurgence of people-centric governance under Omar Abdullah Sahib. Unable to digest the overwhelming public response and administrative accountability of the present dispensation, BJP leaders have resorted to their old playbook of propaganda, diversion and manufactured outrage," Gupta said. "It is politically ironic and morally laughable that a party engulfed in controversies like the Electoral Bonds scandal, Vyapam scam, the Adani controversy and repeated allegations of toppling democratically elected governments through 'Operation Lotus' is attempting to sermonize on ethics and accountability. A Party Accused of Selling Democracy Cannot Lecture NC on Governance," he remarked. "Who will answer for the irregularities in JKSSB recruitments? Who will take responsibility for the JKKVIB scandal, the Sub-Inspector recruitment scam and the recent NEET examination controversy that shattered the aspirations of lakhs of students?. Taking direct aim at BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir, Gupta said those indulging in political mudslinging against the Omar Abdullah government must first come clean on controversies linked to their own ranks. Gupta said the Omar Abdullah-led government has prioritized restoration of democratic institutions, responsive governance, administrative transparency and public trust, which has deeply frustrated the BJP's divisive political machinery. "The contrast is now visible to the common people. The National Conference believes in governance, accountability and inclusive development, whereas the BJP thrives on polarisation, media optics and perpetual political distraction," he said.
