DIG Udhampur-Reasi range conducted security review and public outreach programmes

UDHAMPUR, May 21: DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma IPS, conducted an extensive tour of Shivgali, Dudu, Latti, Mantalai and Sudhmahadev and reviewed the prevailing security scenario, assessed operational preparedness to strengthen police public relations. The visit was aimed at enhancing security mechanism, intensifying anti-terror operations and reinforcing public confidence.
During the tour, the DIG interacted with officers and assessed ground deployment, reviewed area domination measures and emphasized the importance of proactive policing, intelligence gathering and close coordination among all security agencies operating in the area.
At Shivgali, held meeting with DySP PC Latti, DySP PC Basantgarh, SHO PS Basantgarh and IC PP Dudu. He stressed the need for intensification of LRPs, SRPs, CASOs and other CI operations in the area, along with activation of Village Defence Guards. Officers were directed to strengthen inter agency coordination and maintain a robust security grid in the region.
Visited Police Post Dudu, where he reviewed the ground-level security situation and directed officers to maintain heightened vigilance, strengthen surveillance and ensure effective area domination in sensitive locations to uphold peace and public safety.
Visited Police Station Latti along with DySP PC Latti and conducted a public interaction programme with locals and other prominent citizens. During the interaction, he urged citizens to keep a close watch on the younger generation and help to protect them from the menace of drug abuse under the ongoing "Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan."
DIG listened to public issues and assured them of full support from J&K Police in maintaining peace and security. He emphasized the importance of police public cooperation and appealed to citizens to share information regarding any suspicious activities in the locality to strengthen collective efforts towards peace, stability and harmony. The public appreciated the role of the police in resolving local issues effectively.
Conducted a security review of the Sudhmahadev Temple and Mantalai along with SHO PS Chenani and IC PP Sudhmahadev and interacted with the public at Sudhmahadev & Mantalai and reiterated the importance of keeping youth away from drug abuse as part of the "Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan." He called upon the citizens to actively support the police in maintaining a peaceful and secure environment fostering strong police public relations in the region.
