| YRS welcomes opening of Cafeteria at Mubarak Mandi, opposes any proposal for Bars or Alcohol-Related Businesses at Heritage Complex | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 23: Leaders of Yuva Rajput Sabha J&K (YRS) today visited the newly opened cafeteria at the Mubarak Mandi Complex and welcomed its opening, expressing hope that such initiatives can positively contribute towards promoting tourism and enhancing visitor experiences at the historic site. However, they stressed that all future developments within the complex should remain aligned with the cultural, historical and traditional identity of Dogra heritage. During the visit, the YRS delegation highlighted that Mubarak Mandi is not merely a tourist location but a symbol of Dogra pride, history and legacy carrying emotional and cultural significance for generations of people. The leaders asserted that every initiative undertaken within the heritage complex should reflect and preserve the spirit and values of Dogra culture. Addressing the gathering, YRS President Mandeep Singh Rimpy stated that the heritage complex should become a center for promoting Dogra culture, Dogra heritage and traditional Dogra cuisine. While welcoming the opening of the cafeteria, he said such facilities can play a significant role in attracting people and creating awareness about the region's rich cultural identity. He further said that facilities such as cafeterias, libraries and other establishments within the complex should be designed in a manner that showcases the rich identity of the Dogra community. He emphasized that people, especially the younger generation, should be educated about history and informed about the glorious contributions of Dogra rulers, Maharajas and brave warriors through libraries and cultural initiatives within the complex. Mandeep Singh Rimpy further stressed that along with serving traditional Dogra food, efforts should be made to promote traditional Dogra attire and customs. He suggested that staff working within the complex should preferably be local Dogras and encouraged to wear traditional Dogra attire in order to create an authentic cultural atmosphere for visitors. Chief Spokesperson Vishal Singh, while addressing the media, expressed serious concern over reports and discussions regarding the possibility of opening bars or alcohol-related businesses within the heritage complex. He categorically stated that Yuva Rajput Sabha strongly opposes any proposal involving bars, liquor outlets, wine shops, beer businesses or any other activity related to alcohol inside the Mubarak Mandi Complex. He issued a strong warning to the concerned authorities and stated that places associated with Maharajas and the glorious history of Dogra rulers cannot be converted into centers of alcohol-related activities. He said that heritage buildings are symbols of cultural and historical pride and their sanctity must be protected at all costs. He further added that YRS will strongly resist any attempt to establish such businesses at the complex and urged the administration to respect public sentiments and preserve the historical character of Mubarak Mandi. The leaders reiterated that the heritage complex should emerge as a cultural destination reflecting the identity, traditions and values of the Dogra community rather than becoming a commercial hub that compromises its historical significance. |
