RAMBAN, May 24: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Ab-hiyaan, District Police Ramban achieved another success by apprehending one person involved in drug ped-dling activities within the jurisdiction of Police Post Khari. On 23.05.2026, a police party of Police Post Khari, while performing routine naka checking duty at Zero Point Kundan, noticed one suspicious person who attempted to flee upon seeing the police party. Acting swiftly and alertly, the police personnel chased and apprehended the suspect.
During the search, a Charas like substance was recovered from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Bilal Ahmed Takrey S/O Abdul Majeed Takrey R/O Udhala Trigam, Tehsil Khari, District Ramban. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation has been taken up.
District Police Ramban reiterates its firm commitment towards eliminating the drug menace from society and continues its sustained crackdown against drug peddlers and narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan.
The general public is urged to cooperate with the police and share information regarding any drug-related activities to help build a drug-free society.
