REASI, May 26: Under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, District Police Reasi recovered heroin during routine naka checking at Nangal naka point, Katra.
On 25/05/2026, a naka party stopped a car bearing registration No. JK02BV-7877 coming from Kakryal towards Katra for checking. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Pawan Singh S/o Vakeel Singh R/o Sherpur, Katra and Rakesh Sharma S/o Late Birbal Sharma R/o Aghar Jitto, Katra. During checking of the vehicle, heroin (chitta) weighing approximately 4 grams was recovered from inside the lid of the petrol fuel tank.
In this regard, FIR No. 162/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up.
