Early Times Report JAMMU, May 26: Government Medical College, Jammu today organized an informative awareness programme on the topic "Census 2027 and its Implications in the Health Care Sector" at the GMC Jammu Auditorium. The programme was graced by Amit Sharma (IAS), Chief Principal Census Officer and Director Census Operations, J&K and Ladakh, who addressed the gathering comprising HoDs, faculty members, doctors, staff members, nursing students, and students from associated institutions. During his address, Shri Amit Sharma highlighted the importance of Census 2027 and elaborated on its crucial role in policy planning, healthcare infrastructure development, resource allocation, demographic assessment, and strengthening public health systems. He emphasized that accurate census data serves as a vital tool for evidence-based decision making in the healthcare sector. Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal & Dean, GMC Jammu, welcomed the dignitary and appreciated the initiative aimed at creating awareness among healthcare professionals and students regarding the significance of the upcoming census operations. The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members and students of GMC Jammu, Associated Hospitals, Government Ayurvedic Medical College Akhnoor, Government Nursing College Gangyal, Government Nursing College Akhnoor, and AMT School Jammu.
