JAMMU, May 27: Pardeep Sharma, the Publicity Secretary for BJP District Jammu South, has expressed deep concern regarding deepfake videos created using Artificial Intelligence (Al).
He stated that this new technology is not only damaging individual reputations but is also becoming a major threat to democracy and social harmony. Sharma noted that Al-generated deepfake videos are rapidly going viral on social media. In these videos, the faces and voices of political leaders, social activists, and ordinary citizens are being used without their consent to spread misleading propaganda. He emphasized that this is not only against ethics but is also challenging the law and order system. He appealed to the district administration, police, and social media platforms to take immediate and effective steps for the identification and prevention of deepfake videos.
