Early Times Report LEH, May 27: Director General National Cadet Corps Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, visited 1 Ladakh Battalion NCC, Leh, during the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) being conducted from 19 May to 28 May 26 for 350 NCC cadets at Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Gupuk, Leh. The DG NCC called on the Hon'ble Lt Governor UT, Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena and the GOC, 14 Corps, Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, SC**, SM, VSM to discuss matters related to youth development, increasing NCC footprints all across UT, Ladakh and strengthening infrastructure in the region. The DG NCC also visited the ongoing CATC being orgnised by 1 Ladakh Bn NCC, Leh. interacted with NCC cadets drawn from various educational institutions of Leh-Ladakh. While interacting with the cadets, he lauded their enthusiasm, discipline and commitment towards nation-building. He applauded the training being imparted by the NCC Team Leh and further motivated the cadets to actively participate in various NCC camps of national repute and contributing towards nation-building. He also felicitated outstanding ANOs & NCC cadets for their exemplary performance and achievements in various NCC activities. The DG NCC further visited the under-construction Ladakh NCC Training Academy at Phyang, Leh. He reviewed and monitored the progress of ongoing construction works. He emphasized timely completion of the project, which is expected to significantly enhance training facilities and opportunities for NCC cadets in the Ladakh region. The visit highlighted the continued commitment of NCC towards Empowering Youth in remote and border areas and fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism among the younger generation by grooming them as Future Leaders. He stressed that in the context of emerging security dynamics, technological advancements and the national vision of Viksitbharat@2047, Ladakh NCC Training Academy at Phyang will emerge as Centre of excellence wherein NCC cadets training will be dynamic, future-ready and mission-oriented. |
