Early Times Report SUNDERBANI, May 30: Government Degree College Sunderbani, in collaboration with the Sub-District Administration Sunderbani, organized an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan to sensitize students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a healthy, responsible, and productive lifestyle. Ramkesh Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunderbani, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme was also attended by the SHO Sunderbani and the Child Development Project Officer Sunderbani, who interacted with the students and shared valuable insights on the collective responsibility of society in combating substance abuse. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. Resource persons highlighted the devastating impact of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society, emphasizing the need for awareness, prevention, and early intervention. Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs and adopt positive habits that contribute to their personal growth and overall well-being. Addressing the gathering, the speakers underscored the pivotal role of youth in building a drug-free society and urged students to become active participants in spreading awareness within their communities. They called upon the young generation to support the objectives of the Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan and serve as catalysts for positive social change. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Verma, emphasized that such awareness programmes provide an important platform for empowering students to become ambassadors of change. She stated that through awareness, dialogue, and collective action, educational institutions can foster a resilient environment where students are encouraged to say "No" to drugs and "Yes" to a healthy and purposeful life.
