Jodhamal holds capacity building programme on disaster management

JAMMU, May 30: Jodhamal Public School organised an insightful and intellectually enriching Capacity Building Programme on Disaster Management, aimed at empowering educators with critical knowledge, practical competencies, and strategic preparedness to effectively respond to emergencies and safeguard the well-being of students within the school ecosystem. The programme served as a significant platform for fostering awareness regarding preparedness, resilience, and timely intervention during unforeseen crises and natural calamities.
The workshop was graced by eminent resource persons, including Rohini Aima, Principal and Vice- Chairperson JSS, and Parminder Kour, who shared their profound expertise and valuable insights on disaster preparedness, risk mitigation, emergency response systems, and the pivotal role educational institutions play in cultivating a culture of safety and resilience.
Through a series of interactive sessions, practical demonstrations, and engaging discussions, the distinguished speakers sensitised educators to various forms of disasters and emphasised the importance of evacuation protocols, first-response mechanisms, crisis communication, and psychological preparedness during emergencies. Teachers were encouraged to adopt proactive safety measures and nurture awareness among students to ensure a composed, organised, and responsible response during critical situations.
The programme further incorporated activity-based learning and scenario-oriented exercises that enabled participants to appreciate the significance of teamwork, leadership, presence of mind, and coordinated action during emergencies. Special emphasis was placed on developing disaster-resilient school environments and seamlessly integrating safety practices into the everyday functioning of educational institutions.
The workshop was conducted under the visionary leadership of Dr. Deep Khare, Director of the school who underscored that schools are not merely centres of academic excellence but also institutions responsible for preparing students and educators to confront real-life challenges with courage, awareness, and responsibility. Ms Amita Arora, the Principal highlighted disaster preparedness as an indispensable life skill and urged teachers to emerge as ambassadors of safety, vigilance, and resilience within society.
Ms.Deepali Puri coordinated by meticulous planning, dedicated efforts, and exemplary coordination to the seamless execution of the programme.
The school management, Nandan Kuthiala and Arati Kuthiala, lauded the initiative and reaffirmed the institution's steadfast commitment towards fostering a safe, aware, and future-ready educational environment.
The programme culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Amita Arora, who expressed her sincere gratitude to the esteemed resource persons, organisers, faculty members, and participants for making the workshop exceptionally enriching and impactful. She commended the collective efforts of the teaching fraternity in promoting a culture of preparedness, responsibility, and safety consciousness within educational institutions.
The workshop once again reflected Jodhamal Public School unwavering dedication towards holistic education, teacher empowerment, and the creation of a safe, resilient, and progressive learning environment for all.
