Governor Felicitates Outstanding Students of 'The Punjab Public School, Nabha'

CHANDIGARH, May 30: Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria felicitated meritorious students of The Punjab Public School, Nabha at Punjab Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh, for their outstanding performance in the ISC, ICSE and CAIE examinations. Around 53 students were honoured in various categories, including batch toppers, stream toppers, CAIE topper and high achievers.
The Punjab Governor, who is also the Chairman of the School Board, congratulated the students on their achievements and said that their success reflects hard work, discipline and dedication. He also appreciated the continuous efforts of teachers and the support of parents in shaping the students' future.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor stressed the need to upgrade and facelift the school's infrastructure in line with present-day requirements. He announced a grant of Rs 1 crore for infrastructure development and also promised additional support of Rs 5 crore from various sources for the comprehensive facelift of the school. On the request of the Headmaster, the Governor also announced Rs 10 lakh for the development of pickleball sports infrastructure.
Highlighting the academic performance of the school, Shri Kataria said that all 99 students who appeared in the ISC examinations passed with distinction, with the batch recording an impressive average of 91 percent. Nearly 60 percent of the students scored above 90 percent marks, while 34 students secured full marks in subjects including Chemistry, Political Science, Computer Science, Punjabi and Physical Education.
In the ICSE examinations, 68 out of 103 students passed with distinction and the batch recorded an average of 80.3 percent. As many as 22 students secured full marks in subjects such as Punjabi, Biology, Computer Applications and Geography.
Shri Kataria also praised PPS Nabha for its achievements in sports and co-curricular activities. He highlighted that the school's Under-14 and Under-19 Hockey Teams won the All India IPSC Hockey Championships, while the Horse Riding Team secured 77 medals, including 27 gold medals, at the Delhi Horse Show and emerged victorious in the All India IPSC Equestrian Championship.
