Early Times Report CHENANI, May 30: As part of the ongoing campaign against drug abuse and to spread awareness among the youth, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, conducted a Drug Awareness Programme at Village Bashat today. The programme was attended by SSP Udhampur, Amritpal Singh, SDPO Chenani, Sukhvir Singh, and SHO Chenani, Nishant Gupta, along with prominent citizens of the area and students of Government High School Bashat. Addressing the gathering, DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma highlighted the growing threat of drug addiction and stressed the need for collective efforts by families, educational institutions, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies to eradicate the menace from society. He urged students to stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, and other constructive activities. SSP Udhampur Amritpal Singh also interacted with the students and local residents, emphasizing the importance of public participation in identifying and reporting drug-related activities. He encouraged the youth to become ambassadors of a drug-free society and spread awareness among their peers. The participants appreciated the initiative taken by the Police Department and expressed their commitment to supporting the fight against drug abuse. The programme concluded with an appeal to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police in building a safer, healthier, and drug-free society. |
