| Indian Army conducts opening ceremony of carpenter course at Doda | | | Early Times Report DODA, June 2: Indian Army has been constantly undertaking a variety of programme for the locals of the region with special focus on employment generation. In continuing with the same spirit, Indian Army inaugurated a one month Carpenter Course at Village Gwari under Operation Sadbhavana wef 01 Jun 2026. This novel training programme is a pilot project wherein 15 locals hailing from far-flung areas of Gwari region have been selected. The project aims to provide opportunity to train youths of the region on small scale projects with special emphasis on theoretical and practical aspects of carpenter skills, familiarization with basic mechanism and other important aspects. Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony, Indian Army representative said that this virtuous effort by Army will go a long way in amelioration of pockets of hunger and poverty and would also bring greater communal and social harmony in the region. The beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude to the Army for the project and especially the way of selection of the beneficiaries as they feel that this would bring greater communal and social harmony among the locals. The conduct of such training will go a long way in helping the unemployed youth of the area to find gainful self-employment and also encourage entrepreneurship amongst participants. |
