6/2/2026 10:00:50 PM
Early Times Report
YOL (HIMACHAL PRADESH), June 2: On the 52nd day of the ongoing 78-day Yajna Anushthan based on all four Vedas at Ved Mandir, Yol, Yoga Acharya Swami Ram Swarup Ji enlightened devotees and seekers with the teachings of Atharvaveda, Kand 2, Sukta 24, emphasizing that divine Vedic knowledge is the only effective means to eradicate human vices such as attachment, hatred, lust, anger, pride and greed.
Addressing the gathering, Swami Ji explained that God has bestowed Vedic wisdom upon humanity to guide individuals towards righteous living and to free them from destructive tendencies. He stated that no other path can completely eliminate these defects except adherence to the knowledge and discipline prescribed in the Vedas.
Drawing from the Vedic mantras, Swami Ji said that the Vedas inspire mankind to abandon violent tendencies and cultivate compassion and self-restraint. He observed that those who encourage violence, create conflicts and promote bloodshed eventually become victims of the very forces they nurture. Referring to global experiences, he noted that nations that have fostered terrorism have ultimately faced threats from the same elements, underscoring the dangers of supporting violence in any form.
He further highlighted that rulers and governments have a duty to eliminate criminal activities, including theft, looting and other anti-social practices, while ensuring that deceitful and destructive tendencies do not gain ground in society. Stressing the harmful effects of anger, Swami Ji described it as one of humanity's greatest enemies and urged people to overcome it through Vedic spiritual practices.
Swami Ram Swarup Ji called upon individuals to refrain from using harsh and cruel language and to abandon tendencies related to exploitation, looting and misconduct. Such transformation, he said, is beneficial not only for personal growth but also for the welfare and harmony of society as a whole. The renowned Vedic scholar emphasized that even the deepest-rooted negative tendencies in the human mind cannot be permanently removed without following the Vedic path. He urged people to adopt Vedic sadhana, naam-smaran (remembrance of God), yoga practice, yajna and daily agnihotra in their lives. By embracing these disciplines, he said, individuals can overcome their weaknesses, attain wisdom, earn divine blessings and lead a life of happiness, peace and prosperity along with their families. The discourse formed part of the ongoing 78-day Vedic Yajna programme at Ved Mandir, which continues to attract seekers from different regions eager to learn and imbibe the timeless teachings of the Vedas.
