| Telangana Foundation Day celebrated at Lok Bhavan Shimla | | | Early Times Report SHIMLA, June 2: The Foundation Day of Telangana was celebrated with enthusiasm at Lok Bhavan, Shimla, as part of the nationwide initiative 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat', envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen national unity and promote cultural integration among the States and Union Territories of India. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kavinder Gupta said that the celebration of State Foundation Days provides an opportunity to honour the rich cultural heritage, traditions and contributions of different States while fostering the spirit of national integration. The Governor said that the objective behind organizing such programmes is to strengthen the bonds of fraternity, unity and patriotism among citizens and to commemorate the efforts and sacrifices of those who worked tirelessly for the formation and progress of their respective States. Kavinder Gupta remarked that 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' is not merely a programme but a visionary initiative aimed at building a united and prosperous India. He said, "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat teaches us that when we stand together, we can achieve our collective dreams. As we move forward, we must embrace the spirit of this initiative and recognize that our shared identity as Indians is what binds us together above all differences." The Governor emphasized that despite the country's immense diversity in languages, cultures, traditions and customs, the spirit of unity remains India's greatest strength. He said, "We may belong to different States, communities, castes or creeds, but we are Indians first. It is essential to sensitize every section of society and continuously spread the message of unity, harmony and mutual respect." On the occasion, the Governor honoured citizens of Telangana in recognition of their association with the celebration. Secretary to the Governor Shri Sandeep Bhardwaj and other distinguished guests were also present on the occasion. |
