Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, June 5: On observance of World Environment Day 2026 and in compliance with the directions of Police Headquarters (PHQ), J&K, the Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur organized a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive within the institute premises and adjoining areas to promote environmental conservation and strengthen ecological sustainability. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Ranjit Singh Sambyal, IPS, Principal, PTTI Vijaypur, who planted the first sapling and highlighted the importance of collective efforts towards environmental protection. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, staff members, and trainees of the institute, reflecting their commitment to preserving nature and creating a greener future. During the drive, hundreds of saplings of indigenous, medicinal, fruit-bearing, and shade-giving tree species were planted across the campus. The plantation activity was undertaken with the objective of enhancing green cover, improving environmental health, combating climate change, and fostering a sense of ecological responsibility among police personnel and trainees. Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasized that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility and that such initiatives play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance for future generations. |
