Early Times Report JAMMU, June 5: In compliance with the directions of Police Headquarters (PHQ), J&K and Crime Headquarters (CHQ), J&K, a plantation drive was organized at the Police Dog Squad (PSK-9) Unit, Zonal Headquarters, Sunjwan, Jammu, on the eve of World Environment Day. The drive was inaugurated by Shri Sanjay Parihar, JKPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Special Crime Wing (SCW), Crime Branch Jammu, in the presence of officers and officials of the unit (SCW/PSK9). During the programme, a variety of saplings, including ornamental, fruit-bearing and medicinal plants, were planted within the premises of the Dog Squad Unit. The initiative was undertaken with the objective of promoting environmental conservation, enhancing green cover and creating awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. SSP SCW Jammu emphasized the collective responsibility of every citizen towards safeguarding nature and maintaining ecological balance. He encouraged all ranks to actively participate in such environmentally sustainable initiatives and contribute towards a greener and healthier future. A pledge was also taken to continue plantation activities in the coming months, particularly during the monsoon season, to ensure greater survival and growth of the saplings planted. The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment of J&K Police towards environmental protection and sustainable development. |
