| SBSSU celebrates successful completion of stipend- based internship program | | | Early Times Report GURDASPUR, June 18: Under the wise leadership and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Misra, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Beant Singh State University (SBSSU), Gurdaspur celebrated the successful completion of a stipend-based internship programme involving around 70 students from various departments of the University. The structured internship programme, spanning over six months, forms an integral part of the academic curriculum and is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry-ready skills. Students from different disciplines underwent practical training in reputed industries and organizations, gaining valuable hands-on experience and professional exposure. As part of the completion process, the students appeared for their final viva-voce examinations in their respective departments. During the evaluation, the Centre for Training and Placement assessed the projects and assignments undertaken by the students during their industrial training. The interns also received stipends as per company norms, acknowledging their contributions and helping them meet incidental expenses during the training period. Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Misra, Vice-Chancellor of the University, congratulated the students on their achievement and stated that the initiative reflects the University's commitment to producing industry-ready and employable graduates. Mr. Ajay Kumar Dogra, Head of the Centre for Training and Placement, highlighted that the success of this internship cohort demonstrates the positive impact of stipend-based training in enhancing students' confidence and motivating them to pursue careers in reputed organizations. He also expressed gratitude to the Training and Placement officials of all departments for their dedicated efforts in preparing and guiding students. Notably, several students received pre-placement offers and letters of recommendation from their host organizations, reflecting the quality of training and performance demonstrated during the internship programme. |
