Introduction Jammu & Kashmir is known for its natural beauty and pleasant climate. In recent years, however, people have started noticing changes in the weather pattern, especially during the monsoon season. The rainfall no longer follows a fixed pattern and often becomes unpredictable, which is slowly becoming a concern for local communities. Changing Weather Conditions Across different areas, people are experiencing sudden heavy rain at times and long dry spells at others. This irregular behaviour of weather is disturbing normal life. Sometimes roads get affected due to continuous rainfall, while at other times, water becomes less available because of a lack of rain. These changes are making daily life a little more difficult, especially for people who depend directly on weather conditions. Impact on Agriculture Agriculture is strongly affected by these changes. Farmers depend on timely rainfall for healthy crops, but the changing monsoon pattern is creating uncertainty. In some cases, excessive rain damages crops, while in others, insufficient rainfall reduces growth and production. Apple orchards, which are widely found in the region, are also facing difficulties due to this uneven weather. Both quality and yield are getting affected in different ways. Possible Reasons Many people believe that these changes are linked to environmental imbalance. Gradually rising temperatures, changes in natural systems, and melting of glaciers may be some of the reasons behind the shifting weather pattern. While exact causes may vary, the overall trend clearly shows that the climate is not as stable as before. Need for Awareness and Action There is a growing need to take care of the environment. Simple actions like saving water, planting more trees, and avoiding pollution can help reduce further damage. Awareness among people is also very important so that everyone understands the value of nature. Conclusion In conclusion, the changing monsoon pattern in Jammu & Kashmir is something that should not be ignored. It is affecting daily life as well as agriculture. Protecting the environment is important for everyone, and small efforts today can help create a better and more stable future. |
