| Reasi police apprehends drug peddler with 6.03 grams of heroin | | | Early Times Report REASI, June 27: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler and recovered 6.03 gms heroin from his possession . In view of enhanced security measures, a surprise naka was established at TCP Talwara in the jurisdiction of Police Station Reasi. During checking, a person coming from Zero Morh towards Talwara was stopped for verification. On questioning, he identified himself as Mohd. Rafi S/O Abdul Rahin R/O Kansi Patta, aged 28 years. The individual appeared nervous and suspicious. During his personal search, approximately 6.030 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 117/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi and the accused has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended destination of the recovered contraband to establish any forward / backward linkages. Reasi Police remains committed to eliminating the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the public to support the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or substance abuse with the police. |
