Early Times Report JAMMU, June 27: As part of the ongoing campaign against drug abuse, Jammu Police, in collaboration with BIG FM, the National Service Scheme (NSS), and students of Government College for Women, organized a comprehensive anti-drug awareness programme at Village Bathrode, Pounichak. The programme was chaired by SSP Jammu, Shri Joginder Singh, JKPS, and was attended by SP Rural Jammu, SDPO Domana, and ICPP Pounichak, along with officers from Jammu Police. A large number of students, local residents, and prominent members of the community actively participated in the awareness programme. Addressing the gathering, SSP Jammu Shri Joginder Singh, JKPS, emphasized that combating the menace of drug abuse requires a collective effort from society, families, educational institutions, and law enforcement agencies. He urged the public to remain vigilant, support the police by sharing information about drug-related activities, and actively contribute towards building a drug-free society. The SSP also highlighted the various rehabilitation and de-addiction facilities available for individuals struggling with substance abuse, encouraging affected persons and their families to seek timely assistance. He elaborated on the devastating physical, psychological, social, and economic consequences of drug addiction and stressed the importance of preventive awareness, especially among the youth. The programme featured interactive awareness sessions, motivational addresses, and community engagement activities aimed at educating participants about the harmful effects of narcotics and the significance of adopting a healthy and responsible lifestyle. Jammu Police reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to eradicating the drug menace through sustained enforcement, public awareness initiatives, and active community participation under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. |
