JAMMU, July 5: The Shiv Sena (UBT) agitation against alleged financial irregularities in the Ayodhya Shri Ram Mandir donations resonated in Jammu and Kashmir today. Following a nationwide call by party chief Uddhav Thackeray, the J&K unit, led by State President Manish Sahni, organized a ‘Ram Raksha Maha Aarti’ at the historic Ram Mandir in Purani Mandi, Jammu, drawing a massive turnout of devotees. Addressing a packed media briefing, Sahni asserted that the ‘Ram Raksha Maha Aarti’ was not merely a spiritual ritual, but the launchpad of a nationwide mass movement aimed at ensuring absolute transparency, sanctity, and accountability in temple administration. “Ram bhakts have struggled for centuries and contributed their hard-earned money. Devotees will never forgive those who have toyed with the core faith of the community,” Sahni said. Launching a scathing attack on the temple administration, Sahni likened the perpetrators to “modern-day invaders” operating under the guise of Hindutva. “History witnessed foreign invader Mahmud of Ghazni plundering our temples. Today, ‘modern-day Ghaznavis’ are openly looting the sacred treasury of Lord Ram from the shadows,” he alleged, adding that authorities are shielding “big sharks.” Compounding the allegations, the Shiv Sena leader claimed that alongside cash, silver, and jewelry, a gold-plated *Ramcharitmanas* manuscript worth approximately Rs 5 crore has gone missing from the temple premises. Terming the alleged embezzlement a “cruel assault” on global Hindu sentiments, Sahni warned that the nation’s devotees would no longer remain silent. He concluded by demanding that these “insider thieves” be exposed, stating they will have to account for every single penny before both the public and a court of law. On this occasion, Manish Sahni honoured Mahamandaleshwar Shri Mahant Rameshwar Das Ji Maharaj with the prestigious ‘Jammu Warrior’ award for dedicating his life to Sanatan Dharma. Many leaders and workers including Sajeev Kohli, Sanjay Bhatt, Raj Singh, Aditya Mahajan, Jasbir Singh were present on this occasion. |
