Jammu, July 6: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Jammu, continued its dedicated service and emergency response operations during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026), ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims at the Tawi River Front Jammu, where a large number of devotees had assembled for Yatra registration. Considering the heavy rush of pilgrims and the prevailing weather conditions, SDRF personnel (Two ASIs & six supportive officials) under the supervision of Dy. SP Lalit Kumar, SDRF Jammu remained deployed round the clock to provide prompt assistance, maintain public safety and respond effectively to any emergency situation. During the course of deployment, SDRF team swiftly rescued and rendered immediate assistance to 15 pilgrims who had fallen unconscious due to exhaustion and other health-related complications. All the affected pilgrims were administered first aid on the spot and were promptly shifted to nearby medical facilities for further treatment, thereby averting any serious consequences. In a separate incident a snake bite case, reported at Yatri base Camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu where SDRF personnel also responded promptly and ensured that the affected individual received immediate medical attention without delay. The timely and professional response of SDRF personnel once again reflects the Force’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and pilgrim safety. Through continuous deployment, prompt rescue operations, first-aid support given by SDRF in presence of District Administration/Health Department/Local Police, the prompt emergency response by SDRF team has been playing a pivotal role in ensuring a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage for all devotees. The SDRF remains steadfast in its commitment to its motto of “Serving Humanity” and stands fully prepared to respond to any emergency during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026). |
