Early Times Report DODA, July 9: Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of mining material, I/C Police Post Karara and his team detected a case of illegal transportation of mining material during routine checking operations and facilitated action against the violator. During naka checking at Karara, a dumper bearing registration No. JK04K-5300, driven by Must Ram S/o Khakru R/o Chachwah, District Ramban, was intercepted and checked by the police party. Upon inspection, the vehicle was found loaded with mining material (dust). However, the driver failed to produce the requisite GR/Form-A authorizing transportation of the mining material. Accordingly, the vehicle was seized on the spot and the matter was immediately reported to the District Mineral Officer (DMO), Doda for necessary action under the relevant provisions of law. Acting on the report, the Mining Department imposed a fine of ?32,160 against the violator for unauthorized transportation of mining material. Doda Police remains committed to enforcing the law and taking strict action against illegal mining activities, which not only cause environmental degradation but also result in the unlawful exploitation of natural resources. Doda Police appeals to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any instances of illegal mining or unauthorized transportation of mining material to the nearest Police establishment. |
