Doda Police Intensifies Anti-Drug Campaign; Wild Cannabis Spread Over Approximately 28 Kanals Destroyed

DODA, July 9: Continuing its sustained efforts under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Doda Police intensified its drive against the illegal cultivation and growth of wild cannabis plants by conducting special eradication operations at multiple locations across the district.
During the special drives conducted on 09.07.2026, police teams from various Police Stations and Police Posts identified and destroyed wild cannabis vegetation growing illegally in their respective jurisdictions. The operations were part of the broader strategy to curb the availability of narcotic substances at the source and create a drug-free society.
- A police team from Police Post Khellani destroyed approximately 2.5 kanals of wild cannabis near the PWD Office and Trauma Centre Khellani.
- A team from Police Post Pul Doda destroyed around 2 kanals across various locations.
- Police Post Goha Marmat reported the destruction of approximately 3 kanals in different areas.
- A team from Police Post DH Doda destroyed around 1 kanal of cannabis vegetation.
- At Police Post Bhalla, a joint operation with Revenue officials led to the destruction of 4 kanals of wild cannabis.
- Police Post Kastigarh carried out a drive and eliminated wild cannabis spread over 2 kanals.
- A team from Police Station Assar destroyed approximately 2.5 kanals of wild cannabis in its jurisdiction.
- Police Post Karara destroyed wild cannabis spread over 3 kanals.
- Police Post Premnagar eradicated wild cannabis spread over 6 kanals.
- Police Station Gundna destroyed approximately 2 kanals of wild cannabis vegetation.
In total, wild cannabis vegetation spread over approximately 28 kanals was destroyed during the district-wide eradication drives.
The eradication efforts were conducted under the supervision of concerned officers as part of Doda Police's zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse and narcotics-related activities.
Doda Police urges the general public, particularly the youth, to support the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan and report any information regarding the cultivation, trafficking, or consumption of narcotic substances to the nearest Police establishment. Public cooperation is vital in eliminating the drug menace from society and building a healthier, safer, and drug-free future for generations to come.
