Thathri, July 11: An Outreach Camp/Block Diwas was organised today, on 11.07.2026, at Govt Hr Sec School Malanoo under the chairmanship of the District Development Commissioner, Doda Sh Krishan Lal. The programme witnessed the participation of officers from various departments, public representatives, and a large number of local residents. On the occasion, the Health Department, Block Thathri, established multiple healthcare service stalls to provide essential medical services to the public. The services included Tuberculosis (TB) Screening, Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Screening, Eye Check-ups, General Health Check-ups, Sputum Collection Facility, and Handheld Digital Chest X-Ray services for early detection and diagnosis of tuberculosis. A dedicated team comprising Medical Officers, MLHPs, AH Counsellors, paramedical staff, and field functionaries provided free medical consultations, conducted health screenings, distributed medicines, and created awareness regarding preventive healthcare, early disease detection, and timely treatment. Under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), the TB team carried out active case finding through symptom screening, sputum collection, and handheld digital chest X-ray examinations. On the sidelines of the Outreach Camp, Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Vinod Sharma, accompanied by Block Medical Officer Thathri, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo, visited and inspected PHC Malanoo to review the functioning of the health institution and assess the quality of healthcare services being provided. During the inspection, the CMO Doda interacted with the Medical Officer In-charge, healthcare staff, local social activists, and members of the community. He reviewed the availability of healthcare services, infrastructure, medicines, and patient care facilities, and appreciated the dedication of the health staff. Dr. Sharma stressed the importance of strengthening quality healthcare delivery, disease surveillance, public outreach, and community participation to ensure accessible and efficient healthcare services in remote areas. The Outreach Camp received an encouraging response from the local population, reflecting the continued commitment of the District Administration Doda and the Health Department towards delivering accessible, equitable, and quality healthcare services at the grassroots level. |
