Early Times Report JAMMU, July 11: Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) has announced the new District Committee for Poonch for the session 2026-27 to strengthen the organisation further and expand its activities across the border district. The announcement was made by Mr. Mukesh Kumar, State Secretary and In-charge of Poonch District, after consultations with Dr. Vivek Sharma, President of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. According to the announcement, Mr. Lakshmikant Sharma has been nominated as the District President, while Mr. Agrim Raina has been appointed as the General Secretary. Mr. Abhi Sharma has been nominated as the Vice President, and Mr. Vishu Sharma and Mr. Sujal Mehra have been appointed as District Secretaries. Addressing the newly appointed office bearers, Mr. Mukesh Kumar emphasised that the organisation would function with a strong sense of commitment, discipline, and dedication to take the message of Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch to every household in Poonch district. He said that the district unit would actively organise seminars, public awareness campaigns, youth interactions, cultural programmes, protest demonstrations, public rallies, and educational initiatives to educate people about the historical, cultural, and humanitarian issues concerning Tibet. He further stated that the organisation would continue to highlight the struggle of the Tibetan people while promoting greater public understanding of the centuries-old civilisational, spiritual, and cultural ties between India and Tibet. Congratulating the newly nominated office bearers, Dr. Vivek Sharma expressed confidence that the new team would work with dedication, sincerity, and a spirit of service to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level. He said that Poonch, being an important border district, has a significant role to play in spreading awareness about issues relating to national security, India's civilisational heritage, and the Tibetan cause. He urged the newly constituted committee to work collectively, strengthen organisational networks from the district level down to every block and village, and actively engage with students, youth, intellectuals, social organisations, and the general public. |
