Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 12: In a significant initiative aimed at serving the devotees undertaking the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the first grand Bhandara (community kitchen) was inaugurated on Sunday at Purmandal Morh in Jallo Chak. The Bhandara has been organized under the leadership of noted social worker Naresh Charak, who, along with his dedicated team, has made elaborate arrangements to provide free meals and other essential services to the pilgrims throughout the Yatra period.
The Bhandara was formally inaugurated by MLA R.S. Pura-Jammu South, Dr. Narinder Singh, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The inauguration ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, volunteers, social workers, and devotees, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and community spirit.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Narinder Singh lauded the efforts of Naresh Charak and his team for taking up the noble responsibility of serving Amarnath Yatris. He described the service of pilgrims as one of the highest forms of selfless devotion and said that such humanitarian initiatives strengthen the social and spiritual fabric of society.
The MLA remarked that the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is not merely a religious pilgrimage but a symbol of faith, unity, and communal harmony. He said thousands of devotees travel from different parts of the country to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva, and it is the moral responsibility of society to extend every possible support to them. He appreciated the volunteers for dedicating their time, energy, and resources to ensure that pilgrims receive food, care, and hospitality during their journey.
Dr. Narinder Singh further expressed confidence that the Bhandara would continue to serve devotees with dedication throughout the Yatra and wished the organizers success in their humanitarian mission. He also appealed to more individuals and organizations to come forward and participate in such selfless service for the welfare of pilgrims.
Speaking on the occasion, Naresh Charak said that serving the devotees of Baba Amarnath is a matter of great pride and spiritual satisfaction. He informed that the Bhandara has been equipped to provide nutritious meals, drinking water, refreshments, and other basic facilities to the pilgrims passing through the route. He thanked all volunteers, donors, and local residents for extending their wholehearted support in making the initiative a reality.
