Early Times Report NOIDA, July 12: Police arrested four people after busting a fraudulent call centre in Noida that allegedly duped job seekers by promising them jobs with SpiceJet and collecting money for registration and processing fees, officials said on Sunday. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Manisha Singh said the accused, Sudesh Singh (36), Brijesh Bhadauria (38), Arjun (23) and Sandeep Kumar Tiwari (32), arrested in Noida's Sector 2, told police that they procured data of job seekers from quicker.com and other websites and then contacted them with false promises of employment at SpiceJet. Police said the accused allegedly sent fake appointment letters to the victims and persuaded them to transfer thousands of rupees as registration or processing fees into fraudulent bank accounts. After committing the fraud, the accused would destroy the SIM cards. They would then procure fresh SIM cards by paying poor or unsuspecting people to obtain connections in their names, police said. |
