Early Times Report KSHTWAR, July 13: As part of its continued efforts to support community welfare and empower local youth, the Indian Army inaugurated a three-week JCB Driving Course under its Skill Development initiative at Village Sondar, District Kishtwar, on 12 July 2026. The course has been designed to provide unemployed youth with practical training in JCB driving and operating skills under the guidance of trained and professional instructors. The programme aims to enhance employability, create livelihood opportunities and enable participants to become self-reliant through industry-relevant technical skills. A total of 16 youth from the local area have registered for the course, reflecting an encouraging response from the community. During the training, participants will receive hands-on instruction in safe handling, basic maintenance, operational procedures and responsible use of JCB machinery. Local residents warmly appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for creating meaningful employment-oriented opportunities for youth. They also recommended that similar skill development programmes be organised regularly in the future to benefit more unemployed young people across remote areas of Kishtwar district and beyond. |
