DIG DKR range reviews security arrangements for upcoming Shri Machail Mata Yatra

KISHTWAR, July 13: DIGP Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range, Ms. Sargun Shukla-IPS, accompanied by SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, today visited the holy shrine of Shri Chandi Mata Machail to take stock of the overall security scenario ahead of the upcoming Shri Mata Machail Yatra.
During the visit, the DIGP DKR Range assessed the on-ground security arrangements at the shrine and interacted with the personnel deployed there. She reviewed access points, surveillance measures and crowd management plans to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage for the devotees.
Thereafter, a comprehensive security review meeting was held at District Police Lines (DPL), Kishtwar.SSP Kishtwar made a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the salient features of the security plan for the Yatra, which included arrangements at Yatra lodgement centres, identification of shadow areas, langar points, establishment of police assistance booths, deployment of Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), route security, surveillance mechanisms and emergency response systems.
While chairing the meeting, DIGP DKR Range conducted an in-depth review of deployment strategies and operational preparedness at all critical points. She emphasized the need for maintaining high alertness, seamless coordination among all security agencies and ensuring a pilgrim-friendly environment throughout the Yatra.
The DIGP directed officers to remain vigilant, strengthen ground-level intelligence and ensure effective deployment in vulnerable and high-altitude areas. She further stressed on proper briefing of personnel, regular checking of equipment and proactive policing to ensure zero tolerance towards any security lapse.
Appreciating the efforts of District Police Kishtwar, the DIGP expressed confidence that with coordinated efforts and professional commitment, the Shri Mata Machail Yatra will be conducted peacefully and successfully.
