KATHUA, July 20: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting of district officers to review arrangements for Independence Day-2026 celebrations where the main function will be held at the Sports Stadium, Kathua.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officers concerned to ensure timely completion of all arrangements, including renovation of the venue and other logistical requirements, for the smooth conduct of the event.
The Deputy Commissioner called for meticulous planning of security, traffic regulation, sanitation, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, barricading, seating arrangements, transportation, distribution of invitation cards, prize distribution and illumination of government buildings.
The Tehsildar (HQ) and Chief Education Officer were directed to shortlist quality cultural performances while the other departments were instructed to organise cleanliness drives, plantation activities and flag hoisting programmes in government offices.
Among those present were SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, ADC Mahima Madan, Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Vishav Partap Singh, Assistant Commissioner (Development) Akhil Sadotra and officers of various line departments. |
