JAMMU, July 21: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh organised a day-long women empowerment initiative featuring acclaimed actor Huma Qureshi, with two thoughtfully curated programmes celebrating the power of cinema, courage and authentic storytelling.
The first programme was an interactive screening of Huma Qureshi's latest film, Baby Do Die Do, attended by women from Self-Help Groups and students from Government Colleges across Jammu. Following the screening, Huma engaged in an inspiring interaction with the audience, speaking about the evolving role of cinema as a powerful medium for expression and social change. She encouraged the young women to believe in themselves, make fearless choices, challenge stereotypes and use their voices to create meaningful impact. The session was interactive, engaging and deeply appreciated by the participants.
The second programme, organised exclusively for FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh members, was an engaging fireside conversation moderated by Varsha Bansal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL. The discussion explored the many facets of Huma Qureshi's remarkable journey-from breaking into the film industry as an outsider to choosing unconventional roles, embracing challenges and evolving into one of India's most versatile actors and producers. The conversation also reflected on resilience, authenticity and the courage to stay true to one's convictions.

Addressing the gathering, Huma Qureshi spoke about the importance of taking risks, embracing one's individuality and never allowing societal expectations to define one's potential. She shared anecdotes from her personal and professional journey and encouraged women to remain resilient, believe in their dreams and celebrate their unique identities.
The interaction was graced by Huma Qureshi, producer Saqib Saleem, director Nachiket Samant, and actor Rachit Singh, who shared behind-the-scenes experiences from the making of Baby Do Die Do. They spoke about the film's powerful message, the creative process behind bringing the story to life and the importance of telling stories that inspire meaningful conversations around women, equality and empowerment.
The event was attended by Past Chairpersons Ritu Singh, Varuna Anand and Ruchika Gupta; Immediate Past Chairperson Aarti Chowdhary; Vice Chairperson Sona Mehta; Secretary Pooja Dewan; Treasurer Shipra Aggarwal; Joint Secretary Deepti Gandotra; and Joint Treasurer Tanisha Pallan, along with a large gathering of FLO members.
