Early Times Report KISHTWAR, July 23: In view of the forthcoming Annual Shri Chandi Mata Machail Yatra, a comprehensive security review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh-JKPS, to finalize robust security, traffic management, and logistical arrangements for the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage. The meeting was attended by the Addl. SP Kishtwar, Addl SP PC Kishtwar, SDPOs, Indian Army, CISF, NDRF, SDRF, Traffic Police, Fire & Emergency Services, along with officers from the civil administration and other allied departments. During the meeting, SSP Kishtwar delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the overall security architecture and operational plan for the Yatra, covering route mapping, sector-wise deployment, cut-off timings for pilgrim movement, and identification of shadow areas (communication blind zones) along the route. A detailed review of security arrangements was undertaken, including deployment along the entire Yatra route, establishment of checkpoints, strengthening of surveillance through CCTV coverage, use of drone technology at sensitive locations, and real-time monitoring mechanisms to ensure prompt response. The meeting also reviewed arrangements related to traffic regulation, parking management, disaster preparedness, medical aid, and fire safety measures, ensuring that all essential services remain readily available throughout the Yatra period. SSP Kishtwar stressed the importance of inter-agency coordination, real-time information sharing, and establishment of joint control rooms, besides ensuring proper briefing of personnel, installation of public address systems, and maintaining round-the-clock vigilance. He further directed that adequate facilities including medical camps, drinking water, sanitation, and accommodation at designated halting points be ensured in coordination with the civil administration for the convenience of pilgrims. All officers were instructed to maintain a high level of alertness, ensure strict implementation of the plan, and adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards any lapse. The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to ensure that the Machail Yatra is conducted in a peaceful, secure, and well-coordinated manner. |
