Early Times Report JAMMU, July 27: In its continued drive against drug trafficking, Police Station Bahu Fort achieved another success by apprehending three drug peddlers in two separate naka checking operations conducted at Doongian, Bathindi, within its jurisdiction. During naka checking on the intervening night of 17/18 July 2026, a black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK14L-2215 was intercepted. During the search, Rakesh Sharma, S/o Paras Ram, R/o Village Jogwan, Pallanwala, Khour, Jammu, and Sanjay Sharma, S/o Bishan Dass, R/o Village Ghordi, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, were found in possession of 11.12 grams of heroin-like substance. In another operation conducted at the same location on the intervening night of 24/25 July 2026, a red scooty bearing Registration No. JK02DV-7939 was intercepted. During the search, its rider, Karan Singh, S/o Deepak Singh, R/o Goswami Basti, Qasim Nagar, Jammu, was found in possession of 8.04 grams of heroin-like substance. Accordingly, FIR No. 234/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act and FIR No. 244/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the forward and backward linkages of the accused persons. Both operations were conducted under the supervision of the SHO, Police Station Bahu Fort, along with the officers and I/C Police Post Bathindi. Jammu Police remains steadfast in its commitment to combating drug trafficking and will continue to take stringent legal action against those involved in the illicit narcotics trade.
