Early Times Report SAMBA, July 28: In order to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, SSP Samba today chaired a security review meeting at the Conference Hall DPO Samba. The meeting witnessed the participation of Addl SP Samba, SDPO Bari Brahmana, DySP Hqrs Samba, SDPO Vijaypur, DySP DAR Samba, DySP SOG Samba, all SHOs/Incharge PPs, Incharge PCR Samba of District Samba and other police officers. During the meeting, SSP Samba conducted a detailed review of the existing deployment plan and assessed the preparedness and alertness of all security personnel deployed for the smooth and secure conduct of SANJY-2026. He stressed that every officer and jawan must remain highly vigilant particularly at lodgement centres, langar sites, QRTs, naka points and other vulnerable locations, considering the prevailing security scenario. SSP Samba directed all supervisory officers to conduct regular point-wise briefing and debriefing sessions with the deployed personnel so that every officer and jawan remains fully aware of their assigned responsibilities, SOPs and response mechanisms. SSP Samba instructed officers to further strengthen naka checking and ensure meticulous checking of all vehicles and suspicious movements. The SSP also directed officers to conduct daily roll calls and sensitize police personnel regarding their duties, emerging security challenges and the prevailing threat perception. SSP Samba instructed all officers to regularly review contingency plans, ensuring that every unit remains prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any unforeseen situation. The SSP also laid special emphasis on the smooth functioning of CCTV surveillance systems installed at strategic locations. Reiterating the Samba Police's commitment to eradicating the drug menace, SSP Samba directed all officers to work tirelessly to dismantle the network of drug peddlers operating in the district. |
