KATHUA, July 29: The four-day Vedic Yajna and spiritual congregation organised at the residence of former Jammu and Kashmir Forest Minister and BJP MLA Rajiv Jasrotia concluded on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima with the sacred Purnahuti, drawing thousands of devotees from Kathua and adjoining areas.
The Yajna was conducted under the divine guidance and presidentship of renowned Vedic scholar Swami Ram Swarup Ji Maharaj, who led the congregation in chanting Vedic mantras and performing the final oblations in the sacred fire. Devotees enthusiastically participated in the Purnahuti, offering ahutis amid the recitation of Vedic hymns and prayers for universal peace, prosperity and the welfare of humanity.
Addressing the gathering, Swami Ram Swarup Ji Maharaj elaborated on the eternal teachings of the Vedas and explained the divine attributes of the Almighty. He said that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, formless, self-existent, eternal, unborn and imperishable. He emphasized that only those who understand and accept these eternal qualities of God can truly appreciate the spiritual essence of Vedic worship through Yajna and Agnihotra.
Swamiji observed that the path of Vedic worship requires sincere faith, discipline and dedicated spiritual practice. He encouraged devotees to follow the teachings of the Vedas in their daily lives, stating that Yajna is not merely a ritual but a sacred medium for self-purification, social harmony and universal well-being.
The spiritual atmosphere was further elevated as Swami Ram Swarup Ji Maharaj rendered soulful Vedic bhajans, enlightening the devotees with the timeless wisdom of the Vedas. His devotional discourses and melodious hymns filled the venue with an atmosphere of deep devotion and spiritual awakening.On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Swamiji also explained the true Vedic significance of Purnima. He guided the devotees in offering sacred oblations while describing the spiritual importance of the full moon day as prescribed in the Vedas.
Explaining the Vedic meaning of Vyasa Purnima, Swamiji said that this sacred day commemorates the monumental contribution of Maharishi Ved Vyasa, who compiled and documented the divine knowledge of the four Vedas. He explained that the Vedic wisdom had been preserved for generations through the ancient Guru-Shishya oral tradition before Maharishi Ved Vyasa systematically compiled it for the benefit of humanity. Guru Purnima, therefore, serves as a reminder of India's eternal tradition of revering knowledge, wisdom and the Guru who leads humanity from ignorance to enlightenment. |
