| Notorious drug peddler arrested with 50 grams heroin like substance | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, July 29: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking, Samba Police achieved another significant success by arresting a notorious drug peddler and recovering approximately 50 grams of heroin-like substance within the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.
A team of Police Station Vijaypur during vehicle checking naka at AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration No. JK21K-1424 which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Vijaypur side. During search and checking, approximately 50 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) was recovered from the possession of the motorcyclist.
The drug peddler identified as Farman Ali S/o Abdul Gani R/o Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur district Samba has been arrested and the contraband item along with motorcycle has also been seized by the police.
A case FIR No. 129/2026 u/s 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and further investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward linkages of the narcotics network.
It is pertinent to mention that the accused is a notorious drug peddler and is involved in several drug-related cases in the district, indicating his continued involvement in illegal narcotics activities.
SSP Samba appealed to the general public, particularly the youth, to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by sharing any information related to drug trafficking or drug peddling. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential and every credible input will be acted upon promptly. |
