Early Times Report AKHNOOR, July 30: Judge Arushi Shukla, Chairperson, Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC), Akhnoor, visited Sewa Samiti (Vridh Ashram), Akhnoor, to conduct a Legal Awareness Camp on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), reaffirming the commitment of the Legal Services Authority to promote legal literacy and ensure easy access to justice for all. The programme was attended by Panel Advocates Mrs. Meetika Sharma and Ms. Isha Jamwal, along with Jasminjot Kour (Staff), Amresh Sharma (PLV), Ajay Kumar (PLV), Happy Sharma (PLV), Jasvinder Singh (PLV), Nittoo Raina (PLV), and Meenakshi Rajput (PLV). Welcoming the distinguished guests, Dig Vijay Bharti, General Secretary of Sewa Samiti, highlighted the remarkable life and enduring contributions of the organisation's founder, Late Shri Dev Raj Wadehra, whose vision, compassion, and dedication continue to inspire the Samiti's humanitarian and social welfare initiatives. Addressing the gathering, Judge Arushi Shukla underscored the significance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as an effective, economical, and amicable means of resolving disputes. She encouraged citizens to make greater use of mediation, conciliation, and other ADR mechanisms to achieve timely, cost-effective, and accessible justice while reducing the burden on courts. During her visit, Judge Shukla interacted warmly with the inmates of the Vridh Ashram, patiently listened to their concerns, and assured them of every possible legal assistance and support through the Legal Services Authority whenever required. She also emphasized that free legal aid is available to eligible persons and urged everyone to remain aware of their legal rights and remedies. Patrons Dr. K. C. Bhagat and Dr. Tilak Raj Gupta appreciated the visit and described the legal awareness programme as a meaningful initiative towards strengthening legal literacy, empowering citizens, and ensuring greater access to justice, particularly for senior citizens and other vulnerable sections of society.
