JAMMU, Aug 4: The Postgraduate Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, today inaugurated a one-week online National Workshop on "Qualitative & Quantitative Data Analysis" with the objective of strengthening participants' research methodology and data analysis skills.
The five-day workshop comprises four sessions each day and features eminent resource persons from reputed institutions across the country. The invited experts include Dr. Neeraj Kaushik, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration, NIT Kurukshetra; Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, Professor, Delhi School of Business, New Delhi; and Dr. Hitesh Parmar, Assistant Professor, Post Graduate Department of Business Management, Sardar Patel University, Gujarat.
The first day's sessions were conducted by Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, who delivered lectures on the fundamentals of research methodology, covering qualitative and quantitative research, Systematic Literature Review (SLR), the TCCM and ADO models, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in identifying research papers and research gaps. She also highlighted research design, problem formulation and the importance of systematic inquiry in producing high-quality academic research. The sessions witnessed active participation, with attendees engaging in discussions and seeking clarifications on various research concepts. The day concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
Around 81 participants, including research scholars, postgraduate students, faculty members and academicians from across the country as well as Myanmar, have registered for the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Coordinator of the workshop and Head, Postgraduate Department of Commerce, Prof. Jeevan Jyoti, said that the workshop reflects the Department's commitment to promoting quality research and equipping scholars and students with the analytical and methodological skills required for academic excellence and evidence-based research. She said the initiative is in line with the vision of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai, to strengthen the research ecosystem at the University of Jammu through continuous capacity-building, interdisciplinary learning and the promotion of quality research. She expressed confidence that the programme would significantly enhance participants' research capabilities and encourage the adoption of rigorous, ethical and innovative research practices. |
