Hiranagar, Aug 8: In continuation of the Independence Day Celebrations–2026, Government Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College (GLDM GDC), Hiranagar, organised a vibrant Tiranga Rally as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign–2026 and the Commemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram. The rally marked the commencement of Phase III of the campaign, being observed from August 9 to 17, 2026, and witnessed enthusiastic participation by the college fraternity. The rally was organised under the able leadership and guidance of Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal, GLDM GDC Hiranagar, whose vision and encouragement continue to inspire students towards active participation in initiatives promoting patriotism, national unity and civic responsibility. Teaching and non-teaching staff members, along with students, participated in the rally with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Anupama, Prof. Amit, Dr. Naveen, Dr. Vijay, Dr. Bhavana and Prof. Shivani Slathia also witnessed and supported the patriotic event. The rally was led by Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Convener, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, and Dr. Shapia Shameem, NSS Programme Officer, along with College Ambassadors and NSS volunteers. Carrying the National Flag with pride, the participants raised spirited slogans of patriotism and nationalism, creating an atmosphere charged with enthusiasm and national pride. The active participation of College Ambassadors and NSS volunteers—Shavi Sharma, Chinmay Sharma, Saloni, Nandani, Radha, Mehak,Ritika Jahanvi, Vaishnavi, Suhani, Versha, Neha Rudar, Partap Singh, Arun and Yuvraj Singh—added vibrancy and significance to the rally. The initiative sought to instil a deeper sense of love for the nation, respect for the National Flag and commitment to national unity among the youth. It also provided an opportunity for students to connect with the spirit of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and reflect upon the enduring patriotic legacy of Vande Mataram. The successful conduct of the rally reaffirmed the college’s commitment to nurturing responsible, patriotic and socially conscious citizens.
