Chandigah, Aug 9: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Electoral Observer-cum-Municipal Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh, visited various polling stations across U.T. Chandigarh to review the arrangements and ongoing electoral activities during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll.
During the visit, the Electoral Observer reviewed the facilities available at the polling stations and interacted with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to assess the progress of electoral services and voter facilitation. The availability of BLOs during the Special Camp was also reviewed to ensure that eligible electors are provided necessary assistance for electoral registration and other related services.
The visit was aimed at ensuring effective implementation of the instructions of the Election Commission of India and smooth, transparent and voter-friendly conduct of the electoral process. |
