Early Times Report REASI, Aug 11: Continuing its efforts to ensure strict compliance with rules and regulations governing Pony/Palki operations, Reasi Police today initiated legal action against two Pony/Palki operators found operating without valid Pony Cards in the jurisdiction of Police Post Banganga. A Police Party of Police Post Banganga proceeded on routine patrolling within its jurisdiction and established a surprise naka/checking point for verification of Pony/Palki operators. During the checking, two persons were found operating without valid Pony Cards. They were identified as: Raj Singh, S/o Veer Singh, R/o Kakra Thakarakote, Reasi. Abhishek Singh, S/o Shankar Singh, R/o Thakarakote, Reasi. The act constitutes a violation of Section 223(a) BNS. In this connection, FIR No. 270/2026 and FIR No. 271/2026 have been registered at Police Station Katra under the relevant provisions of law. Reasi Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against persons found violating the prescribed rules governing Pony/Palki operations, particularly in areas witnessing heavy pilgrim movement, to ensure the safety and convenience of pilgrims and visitors. |
