POONCH, Aug 13: On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day of India, the Indian Army organised a Tree Plantation Drive at Kathera Mohalla, Haribudha, reaffirming its commitment towards environmental conservation and community welfare.
The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from Army personnel, local residents, community representatives and children. A number of saplings were planted in and around the locality with the aim of increasing green cover and promoting awareness about the importance of protecting the environment.
Speaking on the occasion, the Indian Army representatives highlighted that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility and encouraged citizens, particularly the younger generation to actively participate in initiatives aimed at creating a cleaner, greener and healthier future.
The initiative also strengthened the bond between the Indian Army and the local community, reflecting the Army's continued commitment to nation building, environmental sustainability and community engagement. The Indian Army urged all residents to nurture and protect the planted saplings and contribute collectively towards making Haribudha greener and more sustainable. |
