Deputy Commissioner Kulgam leads Grand Tiranga Rallies

KULGAM, Aug 13: As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and commemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram and in the run-up to the Independence Day celebrations, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam leads massive Tiranga Rallies today at Panchanpathri and Government Degree College, Kulgam.
The rallies were organized by the District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with the Subdivisional Administration DH Pora and Degree College, Kulgam to invoke the spirit of patriotism and to promote reverence for the National Flag and National Song.
Participants marched with the tricolor in their hands, amid echoing patriotic songs that filled the atmosphere with unity and national pride.
At Panchanpathri, the rally proceeded through the high altitude meadow located in the Sub division, which was also joined by SDM, DH Pora, Bashir Ul Hassan,Tehsildar, DH Pora, Zahid Ganie and an appreciable number of local citizens and students.
At Degree College Kulgam campus, the DC led Tiranga was joined by Principal, GDC, college faculty members and students which passed through the town.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam said that Tiranga is a symbol of national pride, unity, and sacrifice for every Indian. He highlighted that the Har Ghar Tiranga aims to deepen the connection of citizens, especially the youth, with the values of freedom and nation-building.
"The overwhelming participation of students and citizens today reflects the indomitable spirit of our district. I urge every household to hoist the National Flag with pride from 13th to 15th August and make this campaign a mass movement," the DC said.
He appreciated the efforts of the Principal, faculty, and students of GDC Kulgam for their active role and for remaining at the forefront of national campaigns. He also commended officials and volunteers for ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
