SHIMLA, Aug 13: Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Shri Surender Chauhan today called on the Hon'ble Governor Shri Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan. It was a courtesy meeting.
Surender Chauhan apprised the Governor of various development projects and initiatives being undertaken by the Shimla Municipal Corporation.
During the meeting, the Governor also discussed various issues related to the development and civic infrastructure of Shimla city with the Mayor. Sharing his experience of serving as Mayor in Jammu, Shri Gupta emphasised the importance of effective urban planning, civic amenities and coordinated efforts for the sustainable development of the city.
The Governor said that Shimla enjoys a distinct identity globally for its natural beauty, heritage and unique character. "It is our collective responsibility to preserve the beauty and grandeur of Shimla while ensuring its planned and sustainable development," he said.
