GANDERBAL, Aug 16: The death anniversary of the revered religious figure, Hazrat Baba Haji Mir Alam Sahib Naqshbandi RA was observed today at Gutlibagh in Ganderbal, with devotees from different parts of the country, including Mumbai, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, gathering to pay their respects, recite the Holy Quran and offer Fateha.
Jammu and Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) President and former MLA Ganderbal, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, also visited Gutlibagh and paid his respects at the shrine of the revered saint, who passed away in 1988.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar highlighted Hazrat Haji Mir Alam Naqshbandi RA Sahib's contribution to spreading the message of Islam and providing spiritual guidance to people. He also appreciated the efforts of the present Mubarak Alam Naqshbandi Sahib, in preserving and carrying forward the saint's spiritual legacy.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar also appealed to Islamic scholars (Ulema) and Muslims to remain united under the guidance of the Holy Quran, Islamic faith and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and avoid divisions within the community.
He further urged religious scholars and devotees to pay greater attention to pressing social issues, particularly the growing problem of drug addiction among youth, and work towards addressing it through guidance, counselling and awareness based on the teachings of the Quran and Hadith. |
